PARACHUTE "PD-08-3U"

A combat and training parachute. It enables jumps to be made automatically, as well as stabilization jumps, provided the weight of the parachutist (equipment included) does not exceed 120 kg, the aircraft velocity is less than 350 km/h, and the jumps are made under normal meteorological conditions as specified by appropriate regulations.

The PD-08-3U has been designed as a combined-action parachute; it may be triggered manually (by a handle) or automatically (by a rope.)

Basic characteristics:

Vertical drop velocity 4.5 to 5.5 m/sec.
Complete parachute opening time: 2.5 to 4 sec. at aircraft horizontal flight velocity of 100 to 300 km/h, with momentary opening.
Under the same conditions and with the use of a stabilizing parachute, the complete parachute opening time is within the 1.5 to 2-second range provided the fall does not take less than 5 seconds. During descent the parachute may achieve horizontal velocity of 0 to 2.5 m/s.
The shortest possible time for one 360-degree turn is 10.5 seconds.
The descent velocity with stabilization is 32 m/s.

Technical data:

Main cupola surface 83.6 sq. meters
Main cupola diameter 10962 mm.
Main cupola cord lengths 7770 mm.
Parachute weight 16.5 kg.

PARACHUTE "PŠ-03"

The PŠ has been designed as a combined-action parachute, and is in the category of training parachutes.
Its principal purpose is intermediate training, but it may also be successfully used for initial training in target-jumping and delayed-opening jumps.

The PŠ may be used manually (triggered by a lever) or automatically (opening with a triggering rope).
In addition, it may be used with the KAP-3 automatic opening device.

All types of drops may be carried out with this parachute, provided the combined parachutist and equipment weight does not exceed 120 kg, the parachutist drop velocity at the opening time is not higher than 250 km/h, and the jumps are made under normal meteorological conditions.

Essential characteristics:

Medium drop velocity: 4.5 m/s
Required parachute opening time from the triggering of the handle to complete opening: 3.7 to 2.6 seconds.
Horizontal velocity: up to 3 m/s
Time required for a 360-degree turn: 7-10 sec.

Technical data:

Parachute weight: 14 kg.
Parachute dimensions when folded: 420x320x220 mm.
Main parachute cupola diameter: 8450 mm.
Cupola surface: 56 sq. m.
Rope lengths: 6500 mm.

PARACHUTE "KLUZ 1-A"

The KLUZ 1-A is used solely for jumps with the parachute opened by the parachutist himself.
Parachute use requirements: weight of parachutist 60 to 120 kg, velocity at opening 240 km/h, and lowest safe opening height 200 m for the main cupola and 150 m for the supplementary cupola.

Cupola part description:

Cupola type: "Krilo 360"
Number of chambers: 7
Cupola surface: 23.5 sq. m.
Wingspan: 6400 mm.
Length of fore carrier ropes: 3550 mm.

Basic characteristics:

Drop velocity with main cupola and no wind 3m/s to 8 m/s.
Gliding speed: 4-5 m/s
Drop velocity in "bird-style' landing: 0.5 to 1.5 m/s.
Horizontal speed (windless gliding): 0.5 m/s to 13 m/s.
